Your San Antonio Home Inspector

My name is Kyle Scott, and I’m a third-generation tradesman and builder, and first-generation home inspector here in San Antonio. I have over 13 years full-time construction experience working with various construction management firms, general contractors, home developers, and home owners.

The breadth of my experience is primarily related to residential new construction and remodeling, making the transition into home inspection quite seamless and natural, though I’ve completed my share of commercial projects and tenant-improvements, as well as institutional work such as hospitals and medical buildings.

Through the years, I’ve been fortunate to work with and learn from many talented tradesmen, such as HVAC techs, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, roofers, and concrete men. I believe that knowledge and experience those men gave me has made me a better home inspector than the others that didn’t work in the field first-hand.

I believe in being the best at whatever it is a person does, whatever field or passion that may be! With that belief in mind, I have embarked on a course of constant and continuing education, training, and certification from the collegiate level to international accreditation.

While completing my associate’s degree in Construction Management, I started taking classes regarding building codes as optional electives. Thanks to a great instructor that was also a building inspector, I discovered the passion and aptitude for building inspection and eventually home inspection that were missing from my previous construction experience. I’ve never looked back and couldn’t be happier with my career.

Why Do I Enjoy Home Inspection?

Home Inspection is something that comes naturally to me as I’ve always found myself observing and critiquing other’s work, most especially when I see another tradesman cutting corners to save time or money. Calling out these shortcuts is something that sometimes got me in trouble, as some of the more unscrupulous contractors that I’ve worked for would bid with these shortcuts in mind!

As a San Antonio Home Inspector, I get to take part in all of the fun parts of the construction business and do what comes naturally to me, while avoiding all of the stuff that I didn’t like so much, such as the headaches from the management process and fixing other peoples mistakes. It’s also a lot easier on the body; I fully expect to be inspecting homes in San Antonio 30 or 40 years from now!
